@cincity

The accompanying music fits so well.Β  I thought it was quite interesting that the "HeartSave" word on that machine, which I guess is a defibrillator, was in English.

Thank you for your comments. It is often a challenge to find matching music. This choice seems to be good.

The scene with the defibrillator has bad light and throw shadows. I should have filled up with some additional light.

But it was b-roll and at the end. So we just did it quickly.

Β

I'm surprised how little visible advantage the 4K footage has in comparison to FHD.

Β

For the next video I 'm going to decrease the aperture size at similar scenes. You can see at the scene 17 sec. that the focus is bad and gets worse the nearer the distance becomes.Β  The scene has good lighting and there is no background to be isolated. It would have been better to enlarge the focus range by decreasing the aperture size.

The problem is just always the bad visual controls at the camera display.

I'm using the focus magnifier for each scene which is very annoying to activate on this little tiny RX100. The buttons are so small. Maybe I should try out the EVF next time. But on the other hand I want so the values on the display. Popping up and pulling out the EVF isn't an option. That's too complicated and difficult to be done with one hand (while the other one is holding the gimbal).

The zebra function is useful, the focus peaking most often doesn't work as expected. For clear edges yes, but for larger surfaces or at shaddy light it just doesn't show any focus contours.

The settings are full manual and the display is more a display for settings than a display to control the footage. I really should consider an external screen to bring more control into it - or to use the EVF.

A very good job, @cincity!
Did you have any problems with the ambient lights?
I think they are LED light. So, may be a problem for the White Balance.

@igorbegΒ

I'm glad you like it πŸ™‚

Β

I had a lot of trouble with the colors.

I used the golden keys for the first time (as you might know ...). I added one effect for the whole track and added a golden key to the beginning and the end of each clip.

If you forget to disable the key in the menu, and then edit an effect it will change everything. And there's no undo for it. Absolute pain πŸ™

I decided to use golden key because the effect stack becomes so huge.

Finally all my plugin settings are fully messed up now (because of my interaction of course). If I wanted to make changes I would need to redo all color/histogram work.

Β

About the white balance - I did it just visually without measuring and I used only 3-Color and the simple Histogram. It was all clear at videoscope but it didn't work out for me. I felt my footage seemed to be a bit tricky.

Β

I tried out some LUTs but the results were all terrible. Extreme noise, strange colours. Not artistic anymore but just strange.

Β

After some testing I decided to give different warmth for the three different locations.

1. the floor is the friendly warm entry

2. the office is bright and neutral

3. the surgery room has a cooler blueish tone

Β

The banding in the highlights comes from a FFmpeg recrunch. The 4K 80 Mbit file is a slight bit darker and highlight to the edge, but not over.

Β

BTW For the future I 'm going to switch back again to add effects for each clip instead going with the golden keys for that kind of usage. Golden key for me only when I want to have a transition.
