Summary | 0000139: Only the first of the selected media can be displayed in the Viewer
Description | If I request the selections (All, Used, Unused) in the media list, only the first identified media (in blue) is played in the Viewer, regardless of which one from this list (in blue) I place in the Viewer.

Nothing comes to mind for a solution. Closing, but you never know if something will come up in the future.
Thank you Phyllis for the explanation and alternative proposal. I understand that the option of a procedure for displaying in the Viewer that I had in mind, is not possible. In my mode of determining and transferring clips to the timeline, it would have been faster and more efficient, but well, you have to deal with the reality of the possible.... I understand your alternative proposal, but indeed it will not be more efficient or faster, because I would have to do it again every time I add new clips to the timeline from sources that have not yet been used. It doesn't matter, we can work very well without this option I had in mind. |

Not sure if this is an easy workaround or just extra work. 1) Once you have the highlighted media selection, right click in an empty spot in the box to the left, select Folder, New Media to make a folder. 2) Then left mouse drag your highlighted media and drop on the new "media bin" you just created. This does NOT create any new media - just links to the other media. 3) Click on your new "media bin" folder which shows the ones you originally had selected and dragged there. 4) Now you can use View one by one (nothing highlighted). 5) If you do not want to save this temporary folder, use RMB for Folder, delete folder. |

Pierre: IgorB is right and GG corrected me. View can not be changed because as it turns out this is the listbox signaling system. It would destroy the "selection critera" method for the other items such as Info, Rebuild Index, Match, and Remove. That is why "View in new window" was added. Also, the current selection criteria allows for Right Mouse Button over ANY of the selected highlighted items in order to use a choice of something like "Info" and get information on all of them rather than just 1 at a time. |

Pierre, sorry, then I do not understand nothing. In Resources you can select All, Used, Unused media relative to the Timeline (if there are clips or not ). The Viewer can shows only a media. Viewer may shows a media one by one. If I want to open more media in more Viewers I have to use "View in new window" option. I don't understand what you mean, sorry. |

Actually IgorBeg, I think what you describe and what I describe is two different things... two different features. On the one hand, your option; the possibility to display the different sources in different Viewers. And my option, different; the possibility to play alternately in the same Viewer all the sources whether they have been identified in blue or not. |
|
For me it is not a bug. I think it is right, how it is now. Maybe in Features5.pdf "20. Multi-Viewer Window Support" manual could be added a note: how to open contemporary more Videos from Resources to Viewers. |
|
Not the next topic yet... !! Now I get it and it looks like a bug to me. I can now demonstrate the "real" problem to gg. Thank you for making me take a second look as I misunderstood.
It is true that each of these media identified in blue can be viewed in individual Viewers. Unfortunately it's not very intuitive, we don't expect this necessary procedure and I didn't find it mentioned in Features5.pdf. I would have preferred if it had been possible to enable the permanent identification of the media sources already in use and to be able to place them alternately in the same Viewer as the unused media sources during the usual editing process. I understand that this is probably a reality imposed by Cinelerra and that we have to deal with it, it's OK. Next topic... |

You have to use "View in new window" and then it works.
