Summary | 0000173: ShuttlePROv2 only works in one instance of Cinelerra-GG
Description | If I open two instances of Cin-GG in two different workspaces (to compare two different versions of an editing or to transfer segments of the timeline between the two), ShuttlePROv2 (all its functions) only works in the first open instance; it is inactive in the second. Would it be possible to make ShuttlePROv2 work in all Cin-GG instances open in different workspaces?

Will close this issue after the monthly builds are complete. Contour is willing to fix any incorrect Shuttle Pros that are out there. |

Okay, it works fine with the latest Cin-GG (Mar 16 2019 10:59:38) and the removal of USB_DIRECT. I've gotten used to using K14 and K15 to mark my clips in the Viewer.... I will have to resign myself to parting with my ShuttlePROv2 until Contour corrects it. |
|
Instead of using USB_DIRECT in $HOME/.shuttlerc if you comment that out you will be using the generic driver, like you do for the mouse, and you can use multiple instances. You will have to shut down cinelerra and unplug the shuttle and then plug back in and restart cinelerra. BUT now K14 and K15 will not work (there is still the possibility of sending it to Contour and have them fix that). An alternative that would take a little more effort on GG's part to test on Mint is the kernel mod to handle the K14/K15 quirk. That was worked out a few weeks ago BUT it would require the user to update their computer with this kernel mod. A small change was made to the program code to allow for this non-exclusive usage so a new build had to be done: https://www.cinelerra-gg.org/download/testing/cinelerra-5.1-mint18-x86_64-static.txz |
