|0000530||Cinelerra-GG||[All Projects] Bug||public||2020-10-23 08:27||2020-11-18 00:27|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version||2020-10|
|Summary||0000530: Resize feature in Asset Info window and Proxy|
|Description||In "Asset Info" window we can change the size of the Video/Picture clicking on Resize button, so all the edits referred to this clip will have that size.|
I usually use Proxy (without Scaler). When I switch from OriginalSize to Proxy it works right, but when I go back from Proxy to OriginalSize (using the P icon on the top-right of the main window) my Resize values are rewrite with the original values.
|Steps To Reproduce||1. RMB on a thumbnail in Resources/Media (that clip is already inserted in the Timeline)|
2. Choose "Info..." option
3. On the Asset Info window clicking on Resize button
4. Type a value for the Scale (for example 0.5 x 0.5). You can see on the Compositor that the clip has been resized.
5. Enable Proxy (without Scaler). In SUV theme you can see the "P" icon on the top-right of the main window and on the Compositor it is still right.
6. Disable Proxy clicking on the "P" icon : you can see that it has been changed to the native size

For me it is PERFECT and it works very good.
Thank you so much!
The latest GIT checkin includes the Reset button. We also did not know if the Scale values should be remembered or not, but we thought it was better to do so, so that is changed also. And the menu is a little bit wider because the double arrow was too close to the edge.
Good! It works right. Thanks!
I don't know if there is a few of time on this. The Resize window remember the Size values but don't the Scale values: I don't know if It should.
And a "Clear" icon button could be useful to resize to native size. I would put on the right of the y-Scale field.
GG made a mod to account for this which has only been minimally tested here.
There is a Mint 18 static tar at:
And a Ubuntu 16 static tar at:
Thanks Phyllis for let me know.
He is adding a 1:1 option (Proxy).
I think it is not a good idea, sorry. I think so.
As quintao tested and wrote at https://www.cinelerra-gg.org/bugtracker/view.php?id=516#c4208 I don't think it will be useful. I have NEVER seen other NLEs that create a Proxy with the same size of the original even though using a different bitrate .
I never use Proxy with Scaler because I have not good performance on my computer: it is always jerky, too little power.
As you always know I usually use Proxy without Scaler. I don't know how it works on your computers.
|GG is working on Proxy for a couple of days now, so I will mention this too. He is adding a 1:1 option.|
