relative displacement of clips

hello everyone! when I add an effect to a clip on the second track, I group the clips with the shift key, and then with the drag tool I change the duration of one of the clips on track 1 and part of the grouped clips changes its position. how to make the clips move in a connected way with any actions and together with the effects attached to them?

@marso

I am a little rusty on grouping so tried to duplicate your scenario to find the solution but ran out of time.

@IgorBeg and @andreapaz are in a different time zone so hopefully in a few hours they will have the answer.  Otherwise, I will do more tests tomorrow.

@marso

Sorry, I  don't understand what are you saying. Could you show a short screencast, please?

I tried to show what it looks like. I don't think it's a bug, it's probably a feature, or I don't know enough about cinelerra editing.

Thanks @marso for your demo, it is more clear, now. It is not a bug but, unfortunately, it works so.

Cinelerra is track based instead of clip based. Other NLEs like Kdenlive, Shotcut, AdobePremiere and so on are Clip based, i.e the effects become part of the clip; when you move the clip the applied effects move toghether.

In Cinelerra-GG you have to use other features. To solve your question there aren't many ways, I think. You can use Nested feature, for example, but I don't know if it might be the right way for you. Sorry.

Thanks for the answer, I was hoping for a less cumbersome solution. It would be nice to be able to group effects with clips, or have some other binding option, but as I understand it, this can be a big problem in the code.
